Climber, Biologist, Photographer & Peruvian Local
Juan Diego Shoobridge Pinilla (JD)
Juan Diego brings more than 20 years of climbing experience in Peru, pairing local guiding in Urubamba with a biologist's background in conservation and a photographer's eye for place.

Climbing, conservation, and local insight from the Sacred Valley
Juan Diego Shoobridge Pinilla, known as JD, started climbing at age 14 and has now spent more than 20 years building a life around the sport in Peru. He went on to found his own climbing company, which operates El Muro climbing gym in Urubamba, and brings that long local experience into every day he spends guiding outdoors.
His work also extends beyond climbing. As a biologist with a background in conservation, JD guides bird-watching tours and leads workshops for nature photographers, giving him a rare way of connecting movement, landscape, and local ecology in the same experience.
